We're looking for up to nine more developers to work with us across GOV.UK, the Performance Platform and other GDS projects. There are loads of different types of work to do and we're looking for people with skills in backend and frontend development (or both, of course).
The formal advert is on the civil service jobs website but you might like to take a look at our guide to applying for a job with us to help you through the process.

Hello GDS,
I was wondering if this job is open to non European candidates?
Thanks,

This one's only open to people who already have permission to work in the UK. I believe we can hire non-EU citizens but can't sponsor visas for this role.

Do you think you will ever recruit outside of London?
Comment by James Stewart posted on
Probably not for the main GDS team, but there are likely to be jobs coming up elsewhere in the country for some of the projects we're involved in. We're currently advertising a webops job to work with Defra in Reading and there are likely to be other things coming up around the place later in the year.

Depending on where you are, might be worth looking at the recruitment for HMRC's centre in the north east:

Hi James, I was wondering what skills were required on the mobile side of things as I couldn't find the details on the job specification page.

We don't build mobile apps but we do a lot of responsive design.
