Today, Get Tech Certified 2026 opens to people working across the UK public sector, offering free digital and technology learning pathways and recognised certifications.
Whether you’re exploring technology for the first time, looking to build your confidence or already working in a digital and technology role and want to deepen your expertise, there’s a pathway for you.
Get Tech Certified runs from 1 October to 31 December 2026, giving you three months to explore the learning available and build skills that can support you in your current role and beyond.
Free learning from leading technology providers

Get Tech Certified is delivered by Government Digital and Data in partnership with leading technology providers, bringing high-quality industry learning and certification opportunities to people working across the UK public sector – for free.
Get Tech Certified is available to eligible civil and public servants. Contractors are not eligible to take part in the campaign.
Our participating providers include some of the organisations developing and delivering the technologies used across industry and the public sector, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Celonis, Databricks, Datadog, Google, HashiCorp, Microsoft, MongoDB, Oracle, ProsperOps, Science and Technology Facilities Council UKRI, ServiceNow, Snowflake and WSO2.
Through Get Tech Certified, participating providers are making a wide range of digital and technology learning opportunities and recognised certifications available at no cost. This gives you the opportunity to develop practical, relevant skills through learning created by organisations with deep expertise in their technologies and subject areas.
There are opportunities for different levels of experience too. Whether you’re taking your first steps into a subject, developing skills you already use in your role or looking for more advanced learning and certification, you can choose a pathway that works for you.
This year, you can explore learning across:
- Architecture
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Cloud Computing
- Cyber Security
- Data
- FinOps
- Quantum Computing
- Software Engineering
Building digital and technology capability across the public sector
Technology continues to change how government and public services work.
Building digital and technology capability across the public sector is not only about developing specialist technologists. It is also about giving people across different professions and organisations the skills and confidence to understand and make the most of technology in their work.
Get Tech Certified helps make these development opportunities more accessible by bringing together free learning from leading technology providers in one place.
For individuals, that could mean developing skills that help you in your current role, exploring a completely new area of technology or gaining a recognised certification that supports your professional development.
For teams and organisations, it is an opportunity to encourage continuous learning and strengthen digital and technology capability across the workforce.
Building on Get Tech Certified 2025

Last year demonstrated the appetite for digital and technology learning across the public sector.
In 2025, Get Tech Certified attracted more than 10,000 sign-ups across 336 public sector organisations, giving colleagues access to thousands of free learning opportunities across a range of digital and technology skills.
Learners achieved more than 1,200 recognised certifications through the campaign, helping colleagues build and demonstrate their digital and technology skills.
In 2026, we want to build on that momentum and encourage even more people from across the public sector to take advantage of the learning available.
Whether you work in central or local government, health, education or another public sector organisation, Get Tech Certified provides an opportunity to invest in your digital and technology skills.
Supporting Women in Tech

This year, Get Tech Certified also includes a dedicated Women in Tech strand, supporting more women to explore opportunities, develop their skills and progress in digital and technology.
Throughout the campaign, we’ll be highlighting learning opportunities, case studies, communities and events designed to encourage and support women at different stages of their digital and technology careers. Look out for a Women in Tech blog post coming soon and find out more about what's is available as part of this strand on our hub page.
Find the pathway for you
Getting started is simple.
Visit the Government Digital and Data Hub to explore the learning available from participating technology providers. You can find out what each pathway offers, consider which opportunities best match your interests, experience and development goals, and follow the information provided to start learning.
You don’t need to be a technology expert to Get Tech Certified.
Whether you want to learn something new, build on your existing expertise, gain a recognised certification or explore where digital and technology skills could take you next, there’s an opportunity to get involved.
Get Tech Certified 2026 runs until 31 December 2026. Any free certification vouchers available through the campaign must be claimed by 31 December 2026. Once claimed, you may have additional time to use your voucher, often up to six months, so you do not necessarily need to complete your certification by 31 December. Redemption periods vary by provider, so please check the relevant learning page for the specific redemption period and any provider-specific deadlines.
